2. What exactly are we doing?

This question is about understanding how your activities create positive change. This is done by setting out a theory of change (or ToC). A theory of change describes how your work makes positive change by linking activities to outcomes in a logical sequence, and consists of the following components: Aims, Activities, Mechanisms of Change, Outcomes. Articulating your theory of change is an important step in understanding the quality of your work and whether it’s making a difference.
