Evaluation partner for the Listening Fund (Scotland)

2019-05-09

We are delighted to begin our work as the learning partner for the Listening Fund Scotland, which will run until March 2021.

The Listening Fund (Scotland) is supported by the Corra Foundation, the National Lottery Community Fund, Comic Relief, The Gannochy Trust and William Grant Foundation. Twelve Scottish youth organisations are being funded over two years to build their capacity around active organisational listening, to equip them to better support young people to be critical in influencing and leading change.

The evaluation aims to explore and understand the impact of dedicated support for organisations working with young people to improve their listening practice. The Centre has been conducting an evaluation of the Listening Fund (England) since March 2018. We will be drawing on the methods and learning coming out of this fund, and we are excited to undertake a comparative evaluation with the Scottish cohort. This project also supports the expansion of the Centre’s work across the UK.

The evaluation adopts a mixed method approach, drawing both on light touch quantitative methods and in-depth qualitative methods. The emphasis will be on building shared approaches with partners, developing evaluation tools that are useful beyond just data collection, and to generate meaningful and actionable insights.
